✈️ Bookings

Why did flight prices change?

Airfares are dynamic and can change within seconds. If the price rises beyond your threshold, the booking is paused and you are notified.

Airline pricing systems update fares in real time based on demand, remaining seats, booking class availability, and competition. A fare that exists when Yellsy detects it may change or disappear within seconds.

What happens when a price changes

  • Yellsy detects a fare matching your target budget
  • Between detection and booking confirmation, the airline updates the price
  • If the new price exceeds your threshold by more than the configured tolerance, the booking is suspended
  • You receive an email notification with the new price and your options
  • You can approve the new price or let the alert continue monitoring

Price change tolerance

Yellsy uses a small tolerance window to handle minor fluctuations (typically a few dollars). Only significant price increases above your budget trigger a suspension. You can see the configured threshold in your account settings.

💡

Setting a budget 5 to 10% below your true maximum gives Yellsy more room to handle minor fare variations without pausing your booking.
