How Yellsy handles luggage and seating automatically
Checked baggage and optimized seating are built into every Yellsy comfort package. They are selected automatically based on your Traveler Profile.
One of the key differences between Yellsy and a standard booking site is that ancillary services are not afterthoughts. Checked baggage and seat selection are treated as core components of your comfort package and are handled automatically by the booking system using your Traveler Profile preferences.
The non-detachable ancillaries rule
Yellsy packages are assembled as a unified unit. Checked baggage and seat assignment are included because removing them would undermine the comfort guarantee of the package. Booking a flight without guaranteed checked luggage or without a seat assignment defeats the purpose of a concierge service. For this reason, these components are bundled and cannot be excluded to reduce the package price after the fact.
How the automatic selection works
When Yellsy submits your booking, it queries the ancillary endpoints of Amadeus and Duffel to retrieve available seat maps and baggage options for your specific flight. The system then selects the best available option matching your preferences (window, aisle, extra legroom, standard checked bag) and adds it to your reservation automatically. You do not need to take any action.
- •Seat zone: selected according to your Traveler Profile preference (window, aisle, or extra legroom where available)
- •Baggage: matched to the allowance configured in your profile
- •If your preferred option is unavailable, the system selects the next best equivalent
- •You are notified in your booking confirmation of the exact seat and baggage assigned
Post-booking alterations
Once the booking is confirmed and ancillaries are locked into the airline's system, changes to seat assignments or baggage allowances must be handled directly with the airline using your booking reference. Yellsy cannot retroactively modify these elements once they are part of a confirmed reservation. Fees applied by the airline for such changes are the passenger's responsibility.
Keep your Traveler Profile preferences up to date. The system reads your current preferences at the time of each booking, so any changes you make apply to future bookings automatically.
