How do budget holds work?
When a matching fare is found, a temporary hold is placed on your card. It only becomes a charge once the booking is confirmed with the airline.
To book a flight the moment a qualifying fare appears, Yellsy needs to reserve the funds on your payment method before final confirmation arrives from the airline. This is done through a temporary authorization hold, not an immediate charge.
How the hold sequence works
- 1.Yellsy detects a fare that matches your target price
- 2.A temporary authorization hold is placed on your card for the trip amount
- 3.Yellsy submits the booking to the airline or booking system
- 4.The airline confirms the booking and issues a ticket
- 5.The authorization settles as a confirmed charge and your ticket is emailed to you
What happens if the booking fails?
If the airline cannot confirm the booking (for example, the seat sold out between detection and confirmation, or the price changed beyond your threshold), the authorization hold is released automatically. No charge is made to your card.
Even after Yellsy releases a hold, your bank may take 1 to 5 business days to remove it from your visible balance. This is a standard bank processing delay, not a Yellsy issue.
